ABR Program digital infrastructure
One of the Government's policy commitments is 'to ensure every government interaction that occurs more than 50,000 times per year can be achieved online by 2017' … the Australian Business Register (ABR) Program can support agencies to achieve this objective.
The ABR Program is responsible for four key enablers that can be used collectively or separately to provide a complete digital service delivery solution to government agencies:
- the Australian business number (ABN)
- Standard Business Reporting (SBR), and
- Australian Reporting Dictionary (ARD).
These digital services are being used by agencies to transform service delivery, reengineer and simplify administrative practices for business and increase their productivity.
Standard Business Reporting
Launched in 2010 Standard Business Reporting or SBR is an Australian Government initiative to reduce the regulatory reporting burden for business.
Accompanying the ARD, SBR includes whole-of-government endorsed standards for business to government reporting and transactions as well as messaging standards for electronic data exchange. Read about the benefits of adopting SBR.
